River City Bangkok Celebrates International Women’s Day
Bangkok (Thailand) – March 10, 2017 (travelindex.com) – River City Bangkok joins hands with AOTA art to organize “La Femme” art exhibition from March 8 until March 26, 2017 at RCB Artery, 1st Floor, River City Bangkok. With the aim of celebrating International Women’s Day, the exhibition features paintings of 8 international artists from 7 countries across 3 continents on the theme of “women”.
Chaired by Italthai Group Chairwoman Mrs. Nijaporn Charanachitta, the opening ceremony of “La Femme” on March 8, 2017, was a great success. The event was attended by over 300 honorary guests including over 20 ambassadors and spouses.
“Few things are more appropriate, than celebrating International Women’s Day with an Art exhibition which has put at its center, the way women conceive and practice art. The artists come from different countries, have different backgrounds and inspiration, they use different techniques, but all of them share, of course, the universal language of Art but also the incredible energy and creativity of the modern women,” stated Guest of Honour, Madame Lucia Costantini Prügel, President of SHOM (Spouses of Heads of Mission) and wife of the Ambassador of Germany.
“Women in today’s world have come a long way in taking on many important roles in addition to our traditional ones. As we celebrate the freedom of being able to make choices and to follow our dreams, we also need to be mindful that many women are not as fortunate as we are. With the rebranding and relaunching of River City Bangkok, we aim to be the destination for arts, antiques and cultured lifestyles. Therefore, the partnership with Madame Astrid of AOTA Art in bringing together these dynamic female artists came at a perfect timing as we strive to bring international art scenes to Bangkok and, at the same time, present our Thai artists globally,” said Ms. Linda Cheng, Managing Director of River City Bangkok and host of the event.
“La Femme” art exhibition not only celebrates the power of women around the world but also provides Bangkok with exceptional opportunity to establish itself as the leading art city in Southeast Asia, offering art and culture in public spaces to be admired by all.
